Let it Be Me The Everly Brothers

E.

E is The Everly Brothers.

E is for The Everly Brothers’s “Let It Be Me”

Listen to This Song When: You don’t want to be left lonely.

“Let It Be Me” is a popular song originally published in 1955 as “Je t’appartiens”, with music by Gilbert Bécaud, who was also the first to record it, and lyrics in French by Pierre Delanoë. The English language version, with lyrics by Mann Curtis, was introduced by Jill Corey when she performed it on the television series Climax! in 1957. Corey’s version, with orchestration by Jimmy Carroll, was released as a single and met with modest success. The most popular version of “Let It Be Me” was released by The Everly Brothers in 1960. It became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number seven. The harmony arrangement of this version was often emulated in subsequent remakes.

Mr. Zott is the lead singer for the lower michigan group, “the great fiction”. He has released two albums as solo projects in the last couple years. “The Foreign Object That Wins” was released in late 2006 on itunes. On Nov. 11th of the year 2008, he released his second solo album. It’s a DOUBLE ALBUM, consisting of 24 songs! He lives with his two guitars and other instruments in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Tout le monde Carla Bruni

C.

C is for Carla Bruni’s “Tout le monde”.

Écouter cette chanson Quand: Vous êtes déçu.

Quelqu’un m’a dit (English: Someone told me) is the debut album by Italian-French singer, model, and currently First Lady of France Carla Bruni, released in 2003.

Tout le monde (Everyone) This melancholy song tells of how everyone has known disappointment – forgotten childhood memories, remains of dreams (“restes de rêves”), and devastation – and then absurdly suggests that this solitude should be fixed by passing a law – “Il faudrait que tout l’monde réclame auprès des autorités, / Une loi contre toute notre solitude,” (“Everyone should demand from the authorities / A law against all our solitude.”), musing on French socialism.
